Sandpoint Highlights

Sandpoint offers the very best of summer and winter recreation opportunities. Located in the Panhandle of Idaho, our city sits on Lake Pend Oreille, a 1,200 foot deep, 45 mile long pristine freshwater lake, nestled between the Selkirk, Cabinet and Green Monarch mountain ranges. The lake provides a fabulous setting for water-skiing, windsurfing, sailing, kayaking ,motor boating, swimming and fishing. The local mountains provide an abundance of hiking and mountain biking trails for every skill level.

Sandpoint is a small, friendly community of approx 6,500 people. It enjoys a vibrant arts contingent, and is home to many nationally know performing and visual artists. The historic Panida Theater is a star attraction. This lovely art deco theater, now on the Idaho Register of Historic Buildings, was rescued from oblivion in 1984 by community action. It now hosts such attractions as the San Francisco Opera, touring musicians, alternative movies, local productions and more.
